I’m behind on my reviews, so here’s a little catch-up, since apparently I’m not going to do full reviews on the movies mentioned below.
THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, starring Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig
Extremely graphic in every possible way. There’s everything from rape to torture to animal mutilation to murder. There is also sweetness, woundedness, hope, faith, and love. Grown-ups only, no exceptions.
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 3D
The 3D adds nothing and takes away from the bright colors. Stick with the original.
THE IRON LADY, starring Meryl Streep
A cruel look at a fragile and fading Baroness. Don’t see this if you loved her.
WE BOUGHT A ZOO
Loved it. Definitely see this one. I went because my kids wanted to go, and I love Matt Damon. Came out happy!
TOWER HEIST
Hilarious. Completely non-predictable. Palpable suspense. Lots of bad language. Super funny. No kids.
IN TIME
Lame. Monochromatic. A cine-view from the viewpoint of the 99%.
Ollie loves animals and the zoo one strikes me as something we can maybe watch as a family with the kid still up. Do you recall anything particularly scary about it?
He knows a LOT of signs for animals. When he does lion he adds a little whispered “rawwwww” that is the cutest thing I have ever witnessed in my life.
